To bring Argentinian conductor and violinist Leonardo Rubin to the National Music Festival. This cultural exchange will provide educational opportunities for community members of all ages as well as Festival musicians, and will introduce community members, including children, to Argentinian culture.
Maestro Rubin will conduct the National Music Festival Chamber Orchestra on June 13, in a performance of Argentinian tango as well as classical music. The performance is open to the public by suggested donation, and all of the rehearsals are free and open to the public, including young children. Families are encouraged to bring their children to rehearsals, where kids can enjoy the music, learn, and even dance. He will also spend time in Chestertown speaking with audiences and mentoring violin students.
